1-day Late triggers a text message letting you know you need to pay for the late day + the up coming day
2-days Late triggers a request to return the vehicle immediately to the location you picked it up: ___________________________. If a renter does not respond to the text message after 3 messages and 3 phone calls Perfect Day Rental will treat this situation as the renter is intending to permanently deprive Perfect Day Rental of the vehicle and intends to steal the vehicle.
3-days Late triggers a police report being filed and Perfect Day Rental will proceed with filing criminal charges against the renter.
Hybrid 101: A hybrid is not an electric vehicle. Hybrids fully rely on gas like traditional gasoline vehicles. A hybrid cannot be powered solely by the hybrid battery. If you allow the vehicle to drop to 1 notch on the gas gauge and it begins blinking the vehicle will shut off on you in the midst of driving. The best way to avoid this is to treat it as a traditional gasoline vehicle and keep the gas above 1 notch on the gas gauge. In most instances, if a car shuts off as a result of low fuel it's quite likely that it will not start back up by merely adding more fuel. The vehicle will usually need to be towed.
Vehicle Accidents/Maintenance/Any Issue Which Prevent You From Driving Vehicle: In the event that a vehicle is not drivable:
Swap into a similarly priced vehicle which will be delivered to you.
If a similarly priced vehicle is NOT available you will have the option to:
Swap into a vehicle of a different price that is available on out fleet.
Check-out of your current vehicle and be placed on a waiting list for the next similar vehicle when it comes available. In this case we will come and tow the vehicle.
Check-out of the rental. If a Renter decides to check-out from their rental and they have 13 or more hours left on the rental then a full days rental will be refunded.
Vehicle Issues Which DO NOT Prevent You From Driving Vehicle: These are the steps Perfect Day Rental LLC will take for handling a vehicle which vehicle need to be fixed and the vehicle is still in a drivable condition. Renters are
Perfect Day Rental LLC will speak with the customer over the phone to determine the extent of the issue with the vehicle. Based on the discussion we will determine is the best action is to take it to one of our preferred mechanics or take it to us in Accokeek, MD
If the issue requires our mechanic's expertise then the Renter has the option to take the vehicle to one of our preferred mechanics in Gaithersburg, MD Kads Auto 16900 Oakmont Ave Gaithersburg, MD 20877 (Ask for Hector).
If the issue is one that a Perfect Day Rental LLC employee can address then the Renter will be asked to take the vehicle to Accokeek, MD where we will fix it ASAP.
If the issue is not an easy one to fix and we have a vehicle the Renter can swap into then we will do the swap in Accokeek, MD.
If the issue is not an easy one to fix and we do not have any vehicles available for the Renter to swap into and the Renter chooses not to go into the mechanic on or before the date requested then we will ask that the Renter to follow contactless return guidelines in section 13-1 and return the vehicle to the pickup location at Tanger Outlet Mall in Oxon Hill, MD.
TICKETS/TOLLS Handling: You will be responsible for all TICKETS & TOLLS that occur during your rental period. When picking up at Tanger Outlet Mall, be mindful that there are speeding traps in the area.
If you know you ran a toll, for YOUR FINANCIAL SAKE, please go online and lookup the toll and pay it. Many toll roads along the East Coast have expensive admin fees that surprise Renters. If a toll has to be mailed to me you are solely responsible for paying it in full.
If you received a TICKET/TOLL while driving, a copy of the ticket will be sent to the number we have on file for you. You have the option to:
Pay the TICKET/TOLL and send us a copy of the receipt.
CashApp/Venmo/ApplePay/Zelle the money, however, this option has a $5 service fee.
ALL TICKETS/TOLLS must be paid within 1 week of receiving it. If Tickets/Tolls are not paid within that time frame your rental will be ended.
Renters have until the due date on the ticket to send proof of payment (copy of receipt) or send the amount owed on the ticket plus the service fee. Any ticket that is not paid will be sent to collections after the due date on the ticket.
All tickets that are not paid for by the due date will be subjected to a $50 administrative fee (for each unpaid ticket).
Once a ticket is sent to collections a "Collections Administrative Fee" of $100 will be applied to each individual ticket that is outstanding plus the $50 administrative fee. ($150 in total for fees applied to each ticket.)
Once the car is returned a claim will be filed with Trip City for all outstanding TICKETS/TOLLS.
GPS: The vehicle you are driving is equipped with a GPS device that is mandatory for vehicle insurance purposes. This device cannot and should not be removed. If the GPS device is reported as undetected by the insurance company, the Owner will try to make contact with the Renter a maximum of 2 times to re-insert the GPS device. If there is no response from the Renter within 60 minutes of the first attempt then the Owner will report the car as stolen.

Cleaning: All stains to the seats and carpets should be cleaned before returning the vehicle. A vehicle returned with stain/s on the seat or carpet will be charged a $35 cleaning fee. This fee can be paid upon return (Cash/CashApp/Venmo). Or a claim can be filed once the car is returned.
SMOKERS:
If you smoke outside and get back in the car, you may potentially bring smoke odor into the car. Any activity that could potentially bring smoke odor into the car will cause the car to have a smoker's odor.
There is a $100 fee charged for ALL smoking smells and or remnants of smoking.
DO NOT use odor bombs/maskers to try and mask any smoke odor. Please do not put any additional air fresheners in the car without prior permission from the owner. If there are traces of odor maskers used to cover up smoke odor in the car a $100 fee will be charged
Late Payments: Renters are allowed to be late for a max of 1-day. Payment is expected before the 2nd day of late payment. If the rental is not returned by the time Trip City's systems reports it as 2 complete days late then we will come and retrieve the vehicle.
Gas: The Renter is responsible for paying for the gas used during the rental. All vehicles should be returned with the same amount of gas that was in the car at the beginning of the rental. If the gas is returned below the point that the Renter received it, the Owner will fill it back to that point and provide a receipt to Trip City for reimbursement.
Tire Damage: If a tire is damaged due to an accident/collision/Renter’s negligence THE RENTER is responsible for repair and towing. THE OWNER will cover the repair costs for flat tires caused by tire piercing objects on the road, loss of pressure, random flat and other maintenance related flats.
Renter Fees: We do not lend money to cover any fees that the Renter is responsible for (ex: towing charges, tickets, Trip City rental etc.).
Check-In: Check-in will be scheduled at a time between 10AM - 2PM M-F or 8AM - 12PM Sat.
Check-In Location: Tanger Outlet Mall Oxon HIll, MD
Vehicles can also be delivered at the request of the Renter. If a vehicle is delivered, a return charge will be required until the return data. If a renter chooses to return the vehicle to Tanger Outlet Mall then the return charges will be refunded.
Return: The car should be returned to the same address it was picked up. We do offer touchless drop off. The Renter can return the car at any time to the address they picked it up. Renters can put the key in the RFID key pouch and lock the keys in the glove compartment and then lock the doors.
Contactless Returns: All vehicles are contactless returns. You are required to return the vehicle to the same location where check-in occurred. Please remember to remove all possessions as we cannot be held liable for any items remaining in the vehicle upon return.
Delivered Vehicle Return: Renters that had vehicles delivered to them will have the vehicle picked up from them during the return process.
Items Left Behind: All items left behind in a vehicle can be picked up at Saint Marys View Road Accokeek, MD (Exact address will be provided when necessary) or they can be mailed to you given that you cover the USPS cost plus $20 shipping and handling charges.
Maintenance Lights: In the event the maintenance or check engine light comes on, or if the Renter experiences any mechanical issues the Renter MUST REPORT to the Owner what is happening. The Renter will have the option to:
Continue Renting: If the Renter chooses to keep the rental car they are opting in to allow the Owner 3-hours to address the mechanical problem or provide a replacement vehicle. If the Owner cannot meet a 3-hour turn around time for a fix or replacement vehicle then the Renter can reach out to Trip City for a full day refund.
End the Trip City rental and turn in the car. If Trip City permits, a refund will be issued if the car is returned within 3 hours of the current rental day as well as a full refund for any unused days.
Bring the car into one of our preferred mechanics. Once service is completed the Owner will cover the cost and the Renter will be reimbursed for the 70% of the base rent (the listing rental price on Trip City)
Out of State: Driving vehicles outside of Washington D.C, Maryland and Virginia are not permitted. If a vehicle is driven to any other states we will end the rental immediately.
How Insurance Works:
If you meet in an accident: call 911
If the accident occurred while you were not driving for a rideshare or delivery service, then you need to use your Trip City insurance.
If the accident occurred while you were driving for a rideshare or delivery service, then you need to use that insurance.
Note: The best thing is to have copies of all necessary insurance inside the car at all times.
Prius Basic Troubleshooting:
START: To start the car push on BRAKE PEDAL and press the POWER button. If the car does not start, take the key and insert it in the rectangular slot below the POWER BUTTON and then try starting again. If the car does not start and there is no rectangular slot below the power button or anywhere near the steering wheel then hold the key beside the POWER button, while holding it beside the power button retry the starting process. If it still does not start, DO NOT PANIC, call the owner.
TRUNK: If the Trunk does not open when you try to open it then
Press the unlock button on the Driver/Passenger Door.
If this does not work, call the owner.
